COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County rivals Churubusco and Columbia City met on the volleyball court at the Donald S. Weeks Gymnasium Tuesday night, treating the fans in attendance to a very competitive match.
Visiting Churubusco took the first game with a very emotional performance, but host Columbia City regrouped to take the next three games to record the 3-1 win.
The win pushes the Columbia City record to 4-0 as they head into Thursday night’s showdown with Concordia, while Churubusco’s record moves to 3-3 as they head to Eastside also on Thursday.

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s tennis team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night, against Northeast Corner Conference foe Central Noble.
The Eagles won 3-2 in Churubusco, with victories in both doubles matches and No. 3 singles.
The No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Wormcastle and Landon Person won 6-1, 6-0 over Cougars Jared Estep and Devon Barr. Andrew Biddle and Brian Murphy of the No. 2 doubles team defeated Central Noble’s Colton Conrad and Caleb Harlan in a match that went to three sets.
