Swender returns Monday to prepare for next weekâ€™s game at Rochester.
CULVER â€” Churubuscoâ€™s 16-game regular season win streak came to an end Friday at Culver Military Academy.
Culver capitalized on â€™Busco miscues to take a 35-16 win, giving Churubusco its first loss of the season.
CMA took control of the field from the beginning of the game, picking off a â€™Busco pass on its first possession and scoring a touchdown two plays later.
Churubusco looks to comeback from its loss, traveling to Northeast Corner Conference foe Fairfield next Friday.
KENDALLVILLE â€” The Columbia City football teamâ€™s roller coaster season fell off a cliff against Northeast Hoosier Conference foe, the East Noble Knights Friday. A week after the Eagles came within a whisker of upsetting undefeated New Haven, Columbia City ended up on the wrong end of a 79-7 shellacking by the Knights.
With the Columbia City sidelines bearing a strong resemblance to an orthopedics ward, the Eagles were forced into using several players with almost no varsity experience to fill out an injury depleted receiving corps and defensive backfield.
