Columbia City’s girls basketball team has its final home game Thursday night against Huntington North. The Lady Eagles (7-14) fell to the Lady Vikings (4-14) last season in a close 45-43 game.

Columbia City Eagles basketball fans!
Boys team does NOT play Northrop tonight. Their next game is at home Saturday at 7:30 vs. Norwell.
Girls team has ONE MORE game this regular season. They will play Huntington North at home Thursday at 7:30.

Columbia City’s boys basketball team is looking to take revenge on Northrop Feb. 16, as the Eagles host the team that beat them, 63-55, in the sectional finals last season. The Bruins are 15-3 and Columbia City is 14-3. Above, Drew Benedict walks off the court after the season-ending loss to Northrop.

COLUMBIA CITY — The Indiana High School Athletic Association held its girls basketball sectional draw Sunday night. Sectionals will be held Feb. 4-9.
Columbia City drew Carroll in the opening round of the Class 4A sectional.
The Lady Eagles are currently 7-14, and Carroll has a 9-10 record.
In their regular season match up, the Lady Chargers topped Columbia City in a close 59-52 Northeast Hoosier Conference game.
FORT WAYNE — Wrestlers from Churubusco, Columbia City and Whitko started the IHSAA Individual State Tournament trail at Saturday’s Carroll Sectional Tournament.
Whitley County’s schools fared well, with 20 wrestlers advancing to next Saturday’s regional competition.
Churubusco led the county schools with a second-place team finish, while advancing eight wrestlers, with three of those capturing three individual weight-class titles.
Columbia City and Whitko both advanced six wrestlers to regionals.
CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s girls basketball team lost to the Central Noble Lady Cougars earlier in January in the Northeast Corner Conference tournament. The Lady Eagles lost that game at home, 39-36.
‘Busco had a second chance at the 2-16 Lady Cougars Saturday, on the Lady Eagles’ senior night.
’Busco trailed by one with 20 seconds in the ball game, but were unable to connect with the basket in the time remaining, and lost 34-30.
