LIGONIER — Whitko’s volleyball team saw its season end against West Noble in a sectional quarterfinal Tuesday.
The Lady Chargers beat the Lady Wildcats 25-15, 22-25, 25-21 and 25-19.
“(We) could not put together consistent strings of points to beat an enthusiastic West Noble team tonight,” said Whitko Volleyball Head Coach Brandy Smith.
Smith said the season did not end the way the team wanted it to, but she is happy with the progress of the team and excited for the future of the volleyball program.
WHITLEY COUNTY— Conventional sports wisdom says that, to be the best, one must beat the best.
That sage advice will be put to the test for Columbia City and Churubusco’s high school volleyball teams this week.
Both schools, competing in Class 3A and 2A, respectively, have highly-ranked foes standing in their way on the path to a sectional title.
For Columbia City, the foe is a conference rival. Bellmont beat the Lady Eagles in three sets earlier this season.
