COLUMBIA CITY â€” The 2nd Annual Tyler Andreas Memorial Strength Meet was held March 16 at Little Turtle Elementary School in Columbia City.
The event involved football players from Churubusco, Columbia City and Whitko, who competed in several football-related drills, including the back squat, bench press and agility test.
Thirty-nine athletes overall took part in the event â€” which celebrates the dedication and warrior spirit of Tyler Andreas â€” while raising money for the scholarship named in his honor.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Stand-out Columbia City running back Adam Neely officially signed with the University of Saint Francis this week.
Neely was the Eaglesâ€™ running back and punter in the 2012 season, and despite breaking his leg in the second game of the season, Neely finished the year with a strong performance.
â€śHis warrior spirit in coming back from a seemingly season-ending injury lifted up the entire team as he carried us to a victory in the sectional,â€ť Columbia City Head Coach Randy Hudgins said.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Three-year letterman Kyle Weigold has committed to attend Manchester University to play football this fall.
Weigold was an offensive tackle for the Eagles last season, and is continuing his football career under the direction of Manchester Head Coach Shannon Griffith.
â€śKyle had been a mainstay on our offensive line since his sophomore year,â€ť Columbia City Head Coach Randy Hudgins said. â€śHe displays incredible love of the game and caring for his teammates.â€ť
