Columbia Cityâ€™s club swim team, the Stingrays, won the 2013 League II Championships at Pine Valley Country Club last week.
High-point winners for the Stingrays were: Hadley Snell, Sammy Varga, Caroline Klimek, Zachary Young, Caden Ferguson, Shauna Jo Young, Telly Varga, Ryan Devito, Josh Butts, Alyssa Koch, Megan Cummings, Matt Webber, Doug Hinen, Josh Shawver, Cassie Bosselman, Taylor Hartsock and Jared Mertz.
The boys 200-meter freestyle relay squad broke the Columbia City Clubâ€™s team record and won the event at the league championships at Pine Valley Country Club last week.

COLUMBIA CITY â€” Whitley Countyâ€™s top athletes will be on display in The Post & Mailâ€™s Athletes of the Year special section â€” inserted today.
The special section also includes The Post & Mailâ€™s selections for male and female Athletes of the Year, two Columbia City High School athletes.
Players of the Week from the 2012-13 school year will also be reviewed, as well as the honorable mention selections.

WHITLEY COUNTY â€” Fall sports are set to begin within the next month for high schools all around Whitley County.
Before athletes can take to the gridiron, court or course, though, practice must be held.
First official practices for Columbia City High School teams are as follows: Girls golf will be Friday, Aug. 2, at 9 a.m. at Eagle Glen Golf Course.
The rest of the Eaglesâ€™ fall sports will kick off Monday, Aug. 5.
Football will hold a meeting at 3, with two practice sessions to follow. These events will be at the football practice field and the athletic building.
