Lady Eagles fall to Warsaw linksters

COLUMBIA CITY— Columbia City’s girls golf team fell to visiting Warsaw at in the team’s home-opener at Eagle Glen Monday.

The Lady Eagles shot 201 — 11 strokes behind the Lady Tigers.

Taylor Daniel paced Columbia City with a 43, two strokes behind Alexis Manwaring of Warsaw, who was the meet leader at 41.

Mackenzie Lane carded a 48 for the Lady Eagles, Allison Yoder and Cheyenne Johnson both shot 55 and Bethany Yoder rounded out the Columbia City varsity scoring at 56. For the season, the Lady Eagles are 0-3.

Moore to coach tennis, strength at Grace

WINONA LAKE — Scott Moore is far from a new face to Grace Athletics. Starting this fall, however, he will be adding several new responsibilities to his title.

Moore, starting his second year assisting the men’s basketball team, will become the next women’s tennis head coach and the school’s first strength and conditioning coach.

Additionally, he will oversee scheduling of practices and events at the Gordon Recreation Center.
