SYRACUSE — Columbia City’s girls golf team took home second place at a 10-squad meet Saturday at South Shore Golf Club in Syracuse.

The Lady Eagles shot 392 at the Wawasee Invitational, missing first place by one stroke as host Lady Warriors had 391 from their gold squad.

Columbia City was 26 strokes ahead of third-place Goshen.

“We played very well,” said Lady Eagle Head Golf Coach Jim Thompson. “We had actually been shooting over 400 when we played 18 holes, to get down to 392 was a giant step forward for us.”
