Hazen on winning volleyball squad

August 2, 2013

Columbia City High School senior Gabrielle Hazen, pictured third from left in the back row, played this summer in the Team USA High Performance Tournament. The tournament drew teams from around the world. Hazen’s squad won the gold medal in the USA A1 junior red division. Hazen will be attending Northwestern University to play volleyball in the fall of 2014. Read The Post & Mail next week for a feature story on Hazen’s summer.

Volleyball champs

Minear Real Estate held a sand volleyball tournament on Saturday. Pictured above are event organizers and some tournament participants. The first place team consisted of Derek Hinen, Dylan Hinen, Tyler Mosher, Blake Downing. The second place team’s members were: Jake Fitzmaurice, Derek Yoder, Travis Chamamile, Josh Chamamile, Josh Martain, Aaron Martin and Ken Asfour and the third place team was made up of: TJ Minear, Nicole Minear, Jason Fore, Trevor Hull, Grant Bockelman, Kyle Rucks. Teams played a double-elimination rally score tournament that started at 11 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m.
