CHURUBUSCO — A stout defensive effort keyed Churubusco’s football team to its second win of the season Friday.
The Eagles defeated visiting Central Noble 42-6 to move to 2-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Northeast Corner Conference.
Churubusco was led by its defense, according to Head Coach Paul Sade.
After shutting out Fremont last week, the Eagle defenders left a goose egg on Central Noble’s side of the scoreboard for more than three quarters.
COLUMBIA CITY — Emotion can play a big role in establishing momentum in an athletic contest.
That emotion can come from many sources. For the Columbia City Eagles, an emotional week in practice and two emotional goalline defensive stands helped establish momentum that allowed them to prevail in a battle of
Whitley County football rivals.
The Eagles twice turned the Whitko Wildcats away without points on their way to a 34-14 home victory at Max Gandy Athletic Field.
