Columbia Cityâ€™s boys golf team continued its winning ways, beating DeKalb at Eagle Glen Golf Course in Columbia City Tuesday night.
The Eagles took a 157-174 Northeast Hoosier Conference win to improve to 4-2 in the NHC and 10-2 overall.
Leading the Eagles was Cameron Slavich, who scored a 36.
Tyler Green shot a 40, Spencer Klimek had a 37, and Trent Murphy scored a 41. Rounding off the scoring was Max Dryer with a 45.
Columbia Cityâ€™s baseball team fell to Norwell with a score of 8-4 Tuesday night.
In the first inning, both teams scored one run within the first four at-bats, tying the first inning 1-1.
In the top of the second, Columbia Cityâ€™s Justin Dailey caught an impressive backwards pop fly, making it the third out and keeping Norwell from scoring.
In the bottom of the second, a single was hit by Jake Elkins and a double was hit by Gary Ormsby.
The road to the Indiana High School Athletic Association State Track and Field Finals began Tuesday night as girlsâ€™ teams from Whitko and Columbia City traveled to New Haven for sectional competition.
Both teams rose to the occasion, with top four finishes guaranteeing advancement to next weekâ€™s Northrop track regional, the Wildcats qualified in six individual events while Columbia City qualified in three individual events and all three of their relay teams.
