Orchard Ridge Country Club with its fast greens and length presents a unique challenge to all golfers. Saturday that challenge became evident to Columbia City High School golf team members and the rest of the Northeast Hoosier Conference as the NHC Tournament and conference championship played out there.
The Eagles took third in the tournament with a team score of 332 that secured a solid overall finish in the NHC.
Columbia City’s Lady Eagle softball team played host to the Mishawaka Lady Cavemen in a Saturday doubleheader at Morsches Park.
Though each game unfolded quite differently unfortunately for the host Lady Eagles the outcome for each was the same, as the Lady Eagles dropped both ends of the doubleheader.
Columbia City fell behind early in game one, losing 10-4. In the second game the Eagles jumped out in front, but were unable to hold the lead in the late innings, falling 7-5 to the Lady Cavemen.
