WARSAW â€” Whitkoâ€™s volleyball team grabbed a 3-0 sweep in its opening match Tuesday night at Lakeland Christian Academy. The Lady Wildcats took a definitive, 25-11, win in game one, while playing more competitive second and third games, winning 25-22 and 25-21.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Thunderstorms sparked the Eagles into a dominating win in their season opener Tuesday night against Central Noble, 6-1. After approximately 30 minutes of play, thunderstorms moved into the area, and the game was delayed until the coast was clear.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Columbia Cityâ€™s Lady Eagle volleyball team opened its 2014 campaign hosting the North Side Lady Redskins Tuesday night at the Donald S. Weeks Gymnasium. With the exception of some midgame inconsistencies, the latest version of the Lady Eagles established a good foundation for the coming campaign with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-12 three-game sweep of the visiting Lady Redskins.

AUBURN â€” â€śThis is proof that every shot matters.â€ť Columbia City girls golf coach Andrew Thompson was excited about the Lady Eaglesâ€™ Northeast Hoosier Conference, tie-breaking win over DeKalb Monday night.
SYRACUSE â€” After a 100-stroke victory Thursday, Columbia Cityâ€™s girls golf team struggled through the Wawasee Invitational Saturday morning. Though placing fourth, the Lady Eaglesâ€™ individual and overall scores were much higher than Thursdayâ€™s 181 in 9 holes.
FORT WAYNE Ââ€” The 53rd annual Fort Wayne City Swim was held August 1-3 at the South Side Brown Natatorium.

COLUMBIA CITY â€” With four golfers posting scores under 50, the Columbia City Lady Eagle golf squad downed the visiting North Side Lady Redskins by more than 100 strokes, tagging the visitors with a 181-289 loss Thursday afternoon at the Eagle Glen Golf Course.
Area football teams are gearing up for scrimmages tonight at 7 p.m. Columbia City will be hosting Goshen, while Whitko and Churubusco will be on the road. The Wildcats are traveling to Garrett and Churubusco plays at Heritage. Pictured is Columbia City quarterback Trevor Bolt.
