HUNTINGTON â€” The Whitko Lady Wildcats basketballt eam traveled south on Ind. 5 to take on a winless Huntington Lady Vikings team Friday night.
The Lady Wildcats could not overcome offensive turnovers in the middle two quarters, and a Huntington advantage from behind the 3-point arc, falling to the host Lady Vikings by a 70-61 score.

WHITLEY COUNTY â€” In Whitley County, gas prices have hovered at less than $3 for the last three weeks. According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of Regular gasoline is approximately $2.85, which is six cents less than the price last week and down 36 cents from this time last year. Many local residents said the recent drop in price has resulted in a savings of approximately $15-20 a week.

Kevin Joel Minnix, 48, of Columbia City, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, 2014.
He was born April 5, 1966 in Columbia City, a son of Mendell and Irma Sue (Lovely) Minnix.
He made his home in Columbia City with the exception of 1980 to 1985, when he was in Cleveland, OH.
He was employed at C&H Concrete, Kilgore Manufacturing and Corporate Construction.

WHITLEY COUNTY â€” The death of a jail inmate has been ruled a suicide by Whitley County Coroner Randy Dellinger.
Kevin J. Minnix, 48, of Columbia City, was found dead in his cell at the Whitley County Jail Tuesday night.
Dellinger said Minnix was found with the string of his hooded sweatshirt wrapped around his neck and tied to a door hinge.
According to police reports, Minnix was detained Tuesday afternoon for operating while intoxicated, criminal mischief and operating as a habitual traffic offender.
