She was born on Feb. 5, 1921 in Union Township, Whitley County to Benjamin and Ethel Marie (Beeching) Wigent.
Mary L. Barnes, 90

Mary L. Barnes, 90, formerly of rural Columbia City, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Parkview Main, Fort Wayne.
She was born April 29, 1920 in Wheatland, a daughter of Daniel and Daisy (Perigo) Gallagher. She spent her formative years in Union Twp., Whitley County and graduated from Coesse High School.
From 1962-1972, she was employed by Sears, Fort Wayne and then L.S. Ayres until 1980 when she joined Hudsonâ€™s/Marshall Fields until her retirement in 1995.
Joseph Derheimer, 95

Joseph Carl Derheimer, 95, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at his home.
Born on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1914 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Joseph and Flora Derheimer.
He worked at International Harvester Co. for 43 years. He worked on the team that established the VIN system for cars and trucks in the world.
He was an artist and loved painting. He volunteered and taught watercolor painting at the Senior Center and for the park board for many years.
Kathryn Pequignot, 93

Kathryn Margreat Pequignot, 93, of rural Fort Wayne, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since 2004.
She was born Feb. 9, 1917 in Berne, a daughter of Peter and Della (Kuehm) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Aboite Township, Allen County where she completed her education.
On April 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Lenord H. Pequignot. They made their home in Coesse, Dunfee and later rural Fort Wayne. Mr. Pequignot preceded her in death on April 2, 2003.

Stewart (Stu) Weldon Trulock, 92, passed away Friday, Dec. 10 in his home in Columbia City surrounded by family. He was born Feb. 2, 1918 in Austin. He graduated from South Side High School in 1936.
He worked his entire life in menâ€™s retail, working for many noted companies, Wolf & Dessauerâ€˜s, Richman Bros., Morrelâ€™s Menâ€™s Wear, and Patterson & Fletchers. He purchased Morrelâ€™s Menâ€™s Wear in 1962 and renamed it Trulockâ€™s Menâ€™s Wear and owned and operated it until 1974. He completed his retail career at L.S. Ayres & Co. in 1982.

Emery Harold Schilling, 103, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at Peabody Retirement Center, North Manchester.
Born June 15, 1907 in Chester Township, Wabash County, he was the son of Mathias and Ida (Leonhardt) Schilling.
LAGRANGE — Despite an 8-6 record for the season, Churubusco wrestling has had two seniors remain perfect.
After a 58-24 win at Lakeland Tuesday night, the Eagle seniors improved to 28-0 for the season.
Seniors Braxton Siddons and Zack Armstead both took pinfall wins against the Lakers proving their leadership this season, according to head coach Sam Riesen.
WARSAW — Despite several Lady Eagle attempts at a comeback, Warsaw’s Lindsay Baker always had an answer.
With six three-pointers and 23 points, Baker crushed any of Columbia City’s chances at a comeback, handing the Lady Eagles their third consecutive loss 63-39 Tuesday night.
The game kicked off with a quick basket by Columbia City’s Sarah Opliger, putting the Lady Eagles up 2-0.
But Baker retaliated with back-to-back baskets, including a three-pointer.
