FORT WAYNE â€” Jo Ann Blake, 76, a resident of Fort Wayne past away at 2:35 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 21, 1935 in Columbia City, a daughter of the late John and Jesse (Laukhart) DeBolt.
Surviving relatives include four daughters, Lisa, Cheryl and Jonni Blake, Fort Wayne and Lynne Blake of Clearwater, FL; three granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Blake, Jr.; six brothers, five sisters and John H. Blake.
Joseph A. â€śJoeâ€ť Harris, 64, of Pierceton, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 19, 1947 in Fort Wayne to William J. & Elsie (Wagoner) Harris.
He was a United States Army veteran, served during the Vietnam War and was married Oct. 3, 1970 in Fort Wayne to Phyllis D. Knox who survives.
He is also survived by daughter, Tanya (Martin) Johnson of Delaware, Ohio; a son Kevin Harris of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and brother James (Sandy) Harris of North Webster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Sue Baker
COLUMBIA CITY â€” There was no end to the enthusiasm from the crowd and the participants as event after event took center court during the inaugural Highland Games at the Whitley County 4-H Fairgrounds on Saturday.
Although the Highland Games is in its 25th year, it is the first time the event was held in Columbia City.

Frederick L. Collar, 85, of Columbia City, passed away at 8:48 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011 from injuries sustained in a vehicular accident in White County.
Born Nov. 12, 1925 in Defiance, Ohio, he was the son of John and Ruth (Heil) Collar.
A lifetime Whitley County resident, he attended Churubusco High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Sept. 5, 1948 he married Carolynn L. Bechtold at First Baptist Church in Columbia City.
A general farmer in Thorncreek Township, he also worked for Dana Corporation, Fort Wayne, where he retired with 30 years of service.
SOUTH WHITLEY â€” Janelle D. Hess, 46, of South Whitley, died Monday, June 20, 2011.
She was born July 31, 1964 in Columbia City, a daughter of Harold M. and Yvonne D. (Overmeyer) King. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from Whitko High School.
Her memberships included St. Johnâ€™s Lutheran Church in Kendallville.
RICHMOND â€” Orval D. Johnston, 98, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 9:30 p.m. in Golden Living Center, Richmond.
Johnston was born Feb. 5, 1913 in Warsaw to Charley W. and Leota (Rhodes) Johnston.
On June 6, 1939, he married Aletha B. Beiswanger in Warsaw.
Survivors include three sons, Gaylord Johnston, Warsaw, David Johnston of Columbia City and Dallas Johnston of Elkhart; two daughters, Rosalind Morey, Richmond and Virginia â€śGinnyâ€ť Hermansen of Salem, Ore.; 17 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren, and numerous foster grandchildren and step grandchildren.
COLUMBIA CITY â€” Christopher J. Hardacre, 54, of Columbia City, passed away at 2:50 a.m. June 20, 2011, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after entering the hospital last week.
Mr. Hardacre was born March 31, 1957, a son of John Richard & Ruth E. (Miller) Hardacre, in Casper, Wyo.
He spent his childhood in Churubusco, moving to Columbia City just before the birth of his daughter Jessica.
He had been employed as an auto mechanic for much of his adult life.
James Franklin Hewitt, age 84, of Kimmell, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1927 in Elkhart to Lee and Leafa Mae (Locke) Hewitt. He married Helga Brathearing, who survives.
He retired as a sergeant from the United States Army after 20 years of service and served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Helga, one daughter, Leona Gordon of Larwell; one step-daughter, Manuela Coburn of North Webster and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Lucille Maloney, 79, of Columbia City, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:10 a.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Born March 4, 1932, in Breathitt County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Willie and Clara (Little) Young.
Her formative years were spent in Kentucky where she completed her education.
On Sept. 30, 1949 she married Billy Gene Maloney in Kentucky.
After their marriage, they relocated to Larwill.
Maria Delourdes Gutierrez De Delgadillo, age 60, of Aguascalientes, AGUAS, Mexico died June 19, 2011 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born Feb. 11, 1951 in Asuascalientes, Mexico to Agustin & Maria Del Refujio (Ortiz) De Gutierrez.
She married Bruno Delgadillo in 1970, who survives.
