Morsches to play lacrosse for University of Colorado

July 17, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — In the 19th century, pioneers traveled from the east, and many of them settled in Colorado.

Annie Morsches, of Columbia City, will have her own pioneering experience in the Rocky Mountain State this fall.

Morsches, who graduated this year from Culver Military Academies, will be playing women’s lacrosse at the University of Colorado.

It will be the first year the Buffaloes have had women’s lacrosse.

However, being new to the sport of lacrosse is one hurdle Morsches has already surpassed. She did not take up the sport until her freshman year of high school.

Eagle Baseball Head Coach Mark Grove said the leadership of the two captains will be missed.

“They are good kids who showed good leadership,” he said. “They will be missed for the way they led the younger players.”
