3 ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER
WARSAW — Three suspects sought for attempted murder charges by Plymouth Police were located in Warsaw last week and arrested with assistance from the Warsaw Police Department’s SWAT team.The arrests happened last Thursday morning on Warsaw’s Park Avenue. According to a press released provided today by Plymouth Police, Christopher Tackett, 16, of Tippecanoe; Heather Alexander, 21, of Warsaw; and Blake Spindler, 19, also of Warsaw, were taken into custody and charged with several felonies, including Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Attempted Murder.According to police, on Feb. 22, the Plymouth Police Department received a report of gunshots fired at the Economy Inn on North Michigan Street. Upon arrival, officers determined that nobody had been injured, but shots had been fired at someone residing at the Inn. Four .380 caliber shell casings were located and two bullets traveled through a window and lodged in the interior wall of one of the motel rooms. The shots were fired from a dark colored car that had left the scene.Further investigation revealed that threatening phone calls had previously been made by an individual, now identified as 16-year-old Tackett. The calls were made to a resident of the Economy Inn.The suspect vehicle was eventually located and police learned it was owned by Alexander. Their investigation also revealed that Spindler and Tackett were in the vehicle when the shots were fired.Alexander and Spindler are currently detained in the Marshall County Jail. Tackett is presently in a juvenile detention facility, but has been charged as an adult and will be transferred to the Marshall County Jail.All three subjects have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, Criminal Recklessness, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Recklessness and Carrying a Handgun without a License.Individual bonds have been set at $50,000 cash.Assisting with the arrests on Park Avenue was the Warsaw Police Department SWAT team and the Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Department.
