In 1966, the No. 1 song on the charts was Strangers in the Night, by Frank Sinatra. John Wayne’s movie El Dorado was released, gas was $.28 a gallon and stamps were five cents apiece.
It was also the only year Columbia City posted a 9-0 undefeated football team.
Though there wasn’t a state tournament in 1966, the Eagles went 9-0 after nearly opposite results in 1965.
