CHURUBUSCO â No one gave up.
Churubuscoâs softball team found itself behind more than once in Wednesdayâs loss to Adams Central, but several times the Lady Eagles clawed back to make the game close again.
The Lady Flyinâ Jets defeated âBusco by a football-like score of 16-13, and just like the gridiron, there were offensive flurries from both sides and power on display.
Offensively, the game was tight in the early going. A first inning solo shot and home run blast in the fifth helped Adams Central open up a 5-1 lead. But âBusco responded.
The Lady Eagles fought back and tied the game at 5 after a four-run fifth. A two-run home run by Courtney Luttman keyed the âBusco charge.
âThese kids canât even spell the word quit, they just keep battling and battling,â said Churubusco Softball Head Coach Wayne Gibson.
