SOUTH WHITLEY — After months of planning, South Whitley’s town park received its last installment of playground equipment Friday.

Cemented across from Doodlebug Village, Adventure Mania is an interactive playground for older children.

Several slides and climbing apparatuses were put in place with work expected to be finished tomorrow.

Michael Vestergaard, owner of Vestergaard & Sons, Inc., and his crew were on hand for the installation.

Whitko High School’s football team joined in on the heavy lifting.
“Those guys were fantastic,” said Vestergaard. “We work with a lot of volunteers and helpers, but those guys were absolutely awesome. They worked hard and never complained.”

Spruce-Up Day

The football team was also a part of Whitley On The Move’s Spring Spruce-Up Day.
