Alfred Bierbaum, 96

Alfred H. Bierbaum, 96, of Columbia City, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Oaks Nursing Facility.
Born April 9, 1915, in Fort Wayne, he retired after 37 years with General Electric.
He was a member of Dunfee Missionary Church.
He is survived by two sons, Edward Alan Bierbaum, of Larwill and Lawrence William Bierbaum, of Wittman, Ariz; a daughter, Janis Ann (Keith) Saggars, of Columbia City; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn E. in 2008 and parents, William F. and Emma F. Bierbaum.
The funeral Service is 1 p.m. Friday at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Wayne St. Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Dunfee Missionary Church. www.klaehnfahlmelton.com.
