COLUMBIA CITY — Since picking the season back up Thursday, Columbia City softball has opened its defense of the Northeast Hoosier Conference championship.
The team the Lady Eagles tied with last season for the NHC title came to Morsches Park for a Monday night game.
After seeing a 4-0 lead erased by DeKalb, Columbia City used a walk-off hit down the right field line by freshman Allie Vodde to beat the Lady Barons in the bottom of the ninth 5-4.
