AROUND TOWN: Parade downtown Monday; no trash pickup

May 25, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — In honor of the Memorial Day holiday, the Columbia City American Legion will sponsor the community’s annual Veterans Memorial Day Parade on Monday.

Line-up begins at 9:45 a.m. at Walnut Street in front of Eagle Tech Academy.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. and will travel south on Walnut Street, east on Van Buren Street and then south on Madison Street, ending at Greenhill Cemetery.

No trash pickup Monday

Columbia City residents will have no trash collection on Monday for trash and recycling due to the holiday. Trash and recycling collections will be performed one day later than normally scheduled.

Monday collections will be made on Tuesday and Tuesday collections will be made on Wednesday, continuing with that pattern until Friday’s trash is picked up Saturday.
