COLUMBIA CITY â Award-winning classical guitarist Peter Fletcher will perform a self-described âdiverse program of music from four centuriesâ at Peabody Public Libraryââs Robert E. Brittain Memorial Auditorium May 13.
The show is free and open to the public.
âThe concert will take place at the beautiful Robert E. Brittain Memorial Auditorium, which has excellent acoustics and is ideal for classical guitar,â said Fletcher in a press release.
Fletcherâs repertoire will include âJesu, Joy of Manâs Desiringâ from Cantata No. 147, as well as the âChaconne in D minorâ by J. S. Bach; two works from Maurice Ravelâs exquisite âMother Goose Suite;â Francisco Tarregaâs ever popular âRecuerdos de la Alhambra;â two exciting crowd pleasers by Spanish composer Joaquin Turina; Griegâs âChanson de Solveig from Peer Gynt;â and music of Praetorius, Ponce and Reusner.
The program will culminate with âKoyunbaba,â by composer/guitarist Carlo Domeniconi. âThis is one of the most unique and exciting works in the classical guitar repertoire,â said Fletcher.
âThis concerts promises to be the perfect event in which to celebrate Motherâs Day.â
