COLUMBIA CITY — The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne and the Whitley County Family YMCA welcomed    Kameron Bailey as the new Sports and Aquatics Director of the Whitley County Family YMCA.
Bailey graduated from Huntington University in 2010 where he majored in recreation management. While in college, Bailey was captain of the Huntington University varsity track and field team. He also gained recreation management experience through his service on the Huntington University game day work crew and volleyball game day coordinator.
A Columbia City native, Bailey grew up playing Y sports at the Whitley County Family branch. In 2009, he served as a Y summer day camp counselor.
In his new role, Bailey will not only continue the programs already being offered through the Whitley County Family YMCA, but will also supervise all of the sports programs and aquatics programs.
Bailey will begin his new position beginning Monday.
“I am anxious to use my recreation and activity skills within a well established organization,” Bailey said. “I was once on the other side and I would love to pay that forward to the youth today because of the influence it had on my life.”
