BANK ROBBERY: North Manchester attempt ends in suicide

NORTH MANCHESTER — A police pursuit that was headed toward Whitley County Friday night stopped short when an alleged bank robber shot himself in his vehicle.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police, a man allegedly robbed a bank in North Manchester shortly before 6 p.m., and a North Manchester Police officer began to pursue a suspect northbound on Ind. 13, into Kosciusko County.

Police say the suspect stopped at the intersection of Ind. 13 and Ind. 14, but refused to leave his vehicle when directed by the officer.
