Barbara Halsey, 60

Barbara J. Halsey, 60, of Columbia City, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne where she was admitted on July 19.
She was born March 27, 1952, in Columbia City, a daughter of Frank Harold and Dorothy A. (Barnes) Wade Jr. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1970.
On March 30, 1974, she was united in marriage to Lonnie M. Halsey. While Lonnie served in the military, they resided in Germany three times, California and Nebraska before returning to Indiana. In 1986, they moved to their home in Columbia City.
She was employed at Blue Bell, Magnavox and for many years at New China.
Surviving relatives, all of Columbia City, include her husband, Lonnie; two children, Stephanie (Shawn) Pierce and Timothy Halsey; three grandchildren, Peyton Halsey, Cierra Halsey and Mackey Pierce; a brother, Duane (Teresa) Wade and two sisters, Brenda Reynolds and Linda Bromley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Ann Halsey and a grandson, Michael L. Pierce.
The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City with visitation after 3 p.m. Saturday.
