Barbara J. Shumm, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011.
Born July 23, 1921, in Decatur, Barb was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Rosary Society and Beta Sigma Phi who enjoyed volunteering with different groups and organizations.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Steven) Smethers of Columbia City; sister, Mary Catherine Hain of Decatur; grandchildren, Mark (Kim) Gareiss, David (Jennifer) Gareiss and Kendra (Ehren) Siebert; and five great-grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by parents John and Ida Holthouse, husbands, Arthur Wilson and Walter Neuman; and brother, John Holthouse.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at St. Therese Catholic Church with calling one hour prior to the service.
Fr. Lawrence Teteh will officiate. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue.
