COLUMBIA CITY — Registration for youth baseball in Columbia City has been extended.

Previously, the deadline was this past Saturday without having to pay a late fee. Now, according to Columbia City Park Director Mark Green, interested individuals have until this Friday at the end of business hours to register for the 2013 baseball season.

“Our office hours go until 4:30 p.m. Friday,” he said. “Our baseball committee wanted to extend it another week, so we did.”

Softball’s deadline remains the same, March 16.

Green said the final coaches’ clinic is still set for this Sunday at 1 p.m. for baseball. While the clinic is free, players have to register for it when they sign up for the 2013 season.

Softball evaluations will be Saturday, March 23 at noon and 2:30 p.m.
Opening Day is April 27.
