Belinda Sue (Bryant) Beiswanger, 55, of Kendallville went on to heaven from her home Thursday, May 26, 2011, after an eight month battle with cancer.
She was born July 6, 1955, in Wabash to G. Wendell and Edna Bryant. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1973 and Purdue University in 1977 with a degree in education. She then completed her Master of Education from Indiana University. She used her talents to invest in the lives of children as an elementary school teacher for 22 years, teaching for the past 12 years at Wayne Center in Kendallville and previously at Wolf Lake and schools in Whitley County.
Belinda married Lee T. Beiswanger at the North Winona Church of the Brethren in Warsaw July 7, 1984.
Belinda was a member of the South Milford Church of Christ for 27 years, where she played piano and was involved in many ways. One of her joys was to travel with her friends and family. Some of her favorite trips took her to Switzerland, Hawaii, Florida, Yellowstone, and all over the country on the motorcycle with her husband. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing games and watching movies, reading and playing the piano.
Belinda will be remembered for her sweet spirit and attitude of goodness and kindness to all she encountered. Her joy encouraged her family and friends, and her laugh was known to be heard from the other side of the hallway at school. Her love for the Lord was prominent in the way she lived her life.
Belinda is survived by her husband, Lee; her daughter, Kelly; and her son, Benjamin, all of Kendallville; her mother, Edna Bryant of Pierceton; her brother, Bruce (Lisa) Bryant of Kokomo; her sister, Angie (Mark) Green of Zionsville; her brother, Jim (Susan) Bryant of Libertyville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her father preceded her in death in 2005.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at South Milford Church of Christ with Brian Walter, Gil Alicea, Jim Mertz and Kristian Jarrett officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Kendallville.
Preferred memorials may be made to South Milford Church of Christ, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, or Heifer International.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bryant, Justin Bryant, Travis Bryant, Chris Bryant, Alex Green, Thomas Beiswanger, and Austin Beiswanger.
