Betty L. Anderson, 84, of Columbia City, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Born on Aug. 16, 1928, in Kimmel, she was the daughter of Chris H. and Dorothy Bernice (Ringler) Lehman.
She is a lifetime resident of Whitley County. She attended Kimmell schools for eight years and Columbia City High School.
On January 21, 1984, she married Donald B. Anderson at First Church of God. She worked at Millers Merry Manor, Columbia City with 10 years of service. She was a member of First Church of God, Columbia City.
Surviving relatives include her son, John Edward (Sharon) Pletcher of Columbia City; daughters, Diane (James) Snider of Columbia City and Mary J. (Alvin) Gillespie of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and six brothers and sisters including, Mary Martz of Ocala, Fla., Ruth Trumbull and Linda Craig both of Fort Wayne, Harold and Kenneth Lehman and Dorothy Smith, all of Columbia City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald B. Anderson; brothers and sister, Charles, Jack, Larry and Ralph Lehman and Marjorie Judd.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Johnny McCallister officiating. The burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Anderson to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
