Betty L. Rubrake McKibbin, 84, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20 at Borgess Pipp Hospital in Plainwell, Mich.
Betty was born Oct. 9, 1927, to Lawrence E. and Pearl Blew Rubrake, one of the familyâ€™s 16 children.
Betty worked as a bookkeeper for C.W. Schrader Auto in Columbia City, Grace P. Pauley Clothing Store in St. Joseph and R & M Heating & Cooling in Coloma.
Betty married Dale McKibbin on July 31, 1954, and to them was born two sons, Mark (Amy) McKibbin of Plainwell and Brian McKibbin of Muskegon.
Betty was a proud and loving grandmother to Mikay, Kieren, Brandon, Alyssa, Elizabeth and Benjamin.
Betty loved living so near to Lake Michigan, and particularly enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. She was a fine quilter, excellent seamstress and a great cook. Family members remember so well, Bettyâ€™s blueberry muffins.
Surviving Betty, besides her husband, sons and grandchildren, are sisters, Jeanette Horrell, Caroline Grable, Treva Ott, Pauline Wolfe and Cynthia Rubrake; brothers, Kenneth Rubrake, Ronald Rubrake, Roy Rubrake and George Rubrake; sister-in-law, Pat (William) Heinbaugh; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were sisters, Sue Ann Rubrake and Ilene Kreider; brothers, Martin Eugene Rubrake, Ted Bosler, Donald Rubrake, and infant twin brothers, Jerry and Terry.
Family and friends gathered at Duffield and Pastrick Funeral Home in Coloma on Nov. 25, 2011 to say good-bye to Betty.
