Betty Snider, 80

Betty Ann Snider, 80, of Columbia City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at 11:30 p.m. at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
Born Feb. 5, 1931, in Urbana, she was the daughter of Fred and Fern (Overholser) Gable.
She was a Whitley County resident her entire lifetime and attended Larwill High School.
Her first marriage was to Robert L. Gause and on Jan. 1, 1973, she married her second husband Joseph Snider, Jr. at Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church.
She worked at Blue Bell, Viking and Parkview Whitley Hospital in the laundry department.
She was a member of Columbia City United Methodist Church and the Sewing Club of the church and Eagles Lodge #1906 Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children; Roberta F. (Jim) Shlater of Columbia City, Robert Gause, Jr. of Roanoke, Nathan Gause of Columbia City, and Rebecca Fryback of Fort Wayne; brothers and sister, Terry (Chris) Gable of Largo, Fla., Gary Gable of West Virginia and Donna Jean (George) Hivley, Largo, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Robert L. Gause and second husband, Joseph Snider, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at South Park Annex Cemetery with Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating.
Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Snider to The Lighthouse Shelter, Columbia City.
