Block party serves kids supplies

August 6, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Children are getting ready to go back to school, but for Whitley County kids, there was a chance for some summer fun before the school bell rings.

A block party was held by churches and organizations throughout the county to bring the community together for one more summer function.

In addition to face painting, sno cones, cupcakes and games, children could receive free school supplies.

Whitley County’s Salvation Army has collected and distributed school supplies for seven years.
