COLUMBIA CITY â€” The Whitley County Consolidated School Corporationâ€™s Board of School Trustees will have hard decisions to make Monday when the nine-person board meets in regular session.
Looming on the agenda, in the wake of the recently signed five-year teachers contract, reduction in force.
Corporation Superintendent Dr. Patricia Oâ€™Connor and Business Manager Tony Zickgraf have read the writing on the wall and in recent weeks reported to the board about expected budget shortfalls.
The two administrators drafted a plan designed to keep the corporation in the black, but were unable to balance the books without eliminating corporation personnel.
