Bonnie L. Wolfe, 82, of Churubusco, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Born July 14, 1931, in Bloomington, Ill., she was the daughter of Arvil “Doc” and Goldie Mae (Snare) Laymon.
She was a graduate of Andrews High School. On Nov. 17, 1976 she married Verlin “Bud” Wolfe.
She worked at General Electric, Alfran Nursing Home and The Oaks, Churubusco High School in 1976, and she was a devoted housewife. She enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Verlin “Bud” Wolfe; daughter, Brenda Smith of Bremerton, Wash.; step-daughters, Nila (Randy) Reimer of Columbia City and Carol (Jerry) Everly of Stem, N.C.; stepson, Allen Wolfe of Suffolk, Va.; sister, Helen Merryman of Huntington; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Georgia Hensel and Norma Myers; and brother, Arvil Laymon.
Visitation will be held Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Wolf Lake Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mrs. Wolfe’s memory to American Diabetes Association.
