April 19, 2012

WARSAW — Police from Kosciusko and Wabash counties are investigating an early Thursday morning robbery and auto thefts that occurred in Kosciusko and Wabash counties overnight.
Sheriff’s deputies from Kosciusko County responded to the McClure Oil gas station in Silver Lake at 1:30 a.m. today after receiving a 911 call on a possible robbery. As officers were en route to the location, a deputy located an unoccupied vehicle near a county road intersection.
Police were told a vehicle matching the same description had apparently fled the robbery scene with two males suspects.
According to police, two white males entered the business wearing black hooded sweatshirts with their faces covered. The suspects, estimated to be in their late 20s, took an undetermined amount of cash from the register as well as numerous cigarettes.
Detectives also discovered the Ford Mustang had been stolen from a North Manchester car lot overnight, along with another car, which was reported recovered in Wabash County.
The two departments, as well as North Manchester police, are currently working together at this time on information related to the investigation. Citizens that might have information related to the overnight crimes are encouraged to call any of the three law enforcement agencies.
