March 30, 2012

COLLAMER — Indiana State Police are saying alcohol appears to be a factor in a one-vehicle crash early this morning involving two Whitley County adults and one unidentified 15-year-old, all of whom were injured in the crash.
According to the ISP, a vehicle driven by Trenton A. Gable, 21, 514 S. Line St., South Whitley, left the roadway at 4519 S. CR 900 W. near Collamer.
Police report the vehicle struck a utility pole, a cement post, rolled onto its top and then struck a tree. The accident report said seatbelts were not used.
Gable was transported by helicopter to Parkview North Hospital in Fort Wayne with facial injuries and is listed by the ISP in stable condition.
The ISP report charges against Gable are pending.
Also injured in the crash, but treated and released were Perry James Swartz, 18, 5231 W. Whitley Rd., South Whitley and an unidentified 15-year-old. Both the 15-year-old and Swartz were charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
