Busco' boys win seventh straight

CHURUBUSCO — In a game that was never farther apart than six points for most of the game, Churubusco won its seventh straight game, defeating visiting Northeast Corner Conference opponent Fairfield in a game that ended with a somewhat misleading score, 58-46.

Coming into the game, both teams likely had the last three years on their minds. Two seasons ago, the Eagles lost in Fairfield by three points on the road and four points in overtime at home. Last year, ‘Busco returned the favor with a three-point overtime victory on the Falcons’ home court.

“It’s a huge rivalry game when you talk about Fairfield,“ said Churubusco Head Coach Mike McBride. “We know each other really well and both teams get up for the game.”

The Eagles move to 7-2 in NECC play and 12-5 overall. The team travels to Whitko tonight to face the intra-county foe at 7:30 p.m.
