‘Busco falls in extra innings to Northrop

FORT WAYNE — Churubusco’s softball team had a familiar weekend performance Saturday.

For the second time in two days, the Lady Eagles lost a 9-8 ball game to a much larger school. Friday, it was against Columbia City. Saturday, it was on the road at Fort Wayne Northrop, with ‘Busco falling in 12 innings.

It wasn’t for a lack of hitting on ’Busco’s part. The Lady Eagles cracked 13 hits overall in the contest, with Amber Aspy leading the way with three. Chandler Blake had two hits and a double and also scored twice. Gabby Jones and Lacey Pulley both had two hits also.
