CHURUBUSCO — Last year’s season may not have turned out the way that Churubusco’s baseball team was hoping for, but this season’s team returns a strong nucleus from that squad and looks to improve on last year’s 7-24 record.
The Eagles graduated pitcher Austin Geoprich, who was 3-3 on the season and batted .278.
Also gone from the Churubusco lineup are infielder Alan Meeks, a .374 hitter who also had 13 stolen bases, and Adam Boggess, who batted at a .278 clip with 21 RBI from his left field position.
Despite the losses, the Eagles return a strong part of last year’s team that went 3-7 in the Northeast Corner Conference.
Head coach Mark Grove points to a couple of juniors that will help the Eagles at the plate.
