’Busco man accused of rape

October 21, 2010

Police have charged a Whitley County man with rape as a result of an incident over the weekend.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, 40-year-old Kent Frenger of Churubusco held a woman at knifepoint before raping her and forcing her to perform a sex act on him.
Police say Frenger and the victim, who had previously dated, left a bar and returned to his house where the incident occurred.
The woman allegedly fell asleep, but asked to be taken home when she awoke.
It was then that Frenger locked the door and took the woman upstairs, threatening her with a knife and beating her before raping her.
He later took her home, apologizing to her for the act, police say.
The county sheriff’s department assisted Churubusco police in apprehending Frenger, who was booked Wednesday on charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct and criminal confinement. He posted bail and was released.
