’Busco relay headed to state

May 30, 2014

After winning the sectional, Columbia City’s Andrew McFarland came in fifth at Thursday night’s regional competition at Indiana Wesleyan.

A fast Indiana Wesleyan University track was the new sight for the IHSAA Regional competition for all three Whitley County boys’ track teams.

Qualifiers from last week’s sectional competition were seeking a top three finish to qualify for the State Finals in Bloomington June 7.

The three schools had several performances that came close, but only the 1,600-meter relay team from Churubusco will make the trip to Bloomington by way of a second-place finish.

The team of juniors Aaron Zolman, Landon Lillmars, Luke Lillmars and sophomore Chance Gallmeier took second with a time of 3:24.5 to qualify for state.
