CHURUBUSCO — A dominating performance by Churubusco’s boys’ track team and a solid win by the girls’ squad gave both Eagle teams wins over visiting Northeast Corner Conference foe Fremont. The boys’ team broke the century mark, racking up 119 points to 12 for the visitors, while the girls’ squad posted a 75-55 win on a cold blustery night.

The ’Busco boys took first place in all 16 events, with Aaron Zolman claiming wins in three individual events and three other Eagles taking two wins each. Zolman claimed both sprints, winning the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.3 seconds, and the 200 in 24.29 seconds, leading a Churubusco sweep in both events. Zolman also jumped 5 feet, 10 inches to win the high jump.

Cory Miller was a double-winner, taking the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 5.5 inches and the pole vault by clearing 13 feet even. Churubusco’s Gunner Barnhart gave the Eagles another double winner by winning both of the throwing events.
