CHURUBUSCO — After a struggling start to the season, Churubusco’s tennis team improved its Northeast Corner Conference record to 2-2 this week, beating Central Noble Tuesday and Prairie Heights Thursday.
The Eagles downed the Panthers 4-1, with wins in all divisions, excluding No. 2 doubles.
No. 1 singles Luke Lillmars pummelled his Prairie Heights opponent, 6-0, 6-0. In No. 2 singles, Cody Luttman won a lopsided 6-2, 6-0 match.
Landon Lillmars won the forfeit in No. 3 singles, as Prairie Heights didn’t have enough players for a full team.
The No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Wormcastle and Landon Pearson won 6-4, 6-1. ’Busco’s only loss came in No. 2 doubles. The team of Andrew Biddle and Morgan Wormcastle were defeated 6-4, 6-4.
The Eagles travel to Westview tonight, looking to take its first winning NECC record.
