â€™Busco wins Woodlan Invite

WOODLAN â€” Churubuscoâ€™s wrestling team took home the invitational title from Woodlan Saturday.
The Eagles claimed the victory by scoring 233 points with weight-class wins from Jason Nicodemus, Sam Siddons and Gunner Barnhart.
â€™Busco was 24 points ahead of the second-place team and Northeast Corner Conference foe Fremont.
Churubusco head coach Sam Riesen said â€™Busco has finished at the top of the pack for the last several years, and heâ€™s glad the team was able to pick up a win this season.
Barnhart won the championship round in the heavyweight class by pinfall at 1:18 over Woodlanâ€™s Garrett Van Brocklin.
Nicodemus pinned Nick Woodruff of Greenville at 3:15, and Siddons also won by pinfall, topping Brady Elliot of Fremont at 2:56.
Joey Heaton lost a 3-1 decision in overtime to Fremontâ€™s Brad Owen.
Chae Downing also last in a close match, falling to Sam Lovejoy of Bishop Luers by a 3-1 decision.
Brandon Wormcastle was pinned at 54 seconds by Woodlanâ€™s Trey Delagrange and Shane Shroyer fell by major decision to Fremontâ€™s Tylor Willms, 10-1.
The Eagles are prepping for NECC play this weekend, followed by sectionals at Carroll next Saturday.
