The Camp Whitley Board of Directors recently announced that Lauren Strandlund, the assistant director from 2013, will be stepping into the role of interim director for the summer of 2014.
During the summer of 2013, Camp Whitley began a new era with a new director, Josh Wall. In addition to being an elementary teacher and Camp Whitley director, Wall is an active member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Camp Whitley is âproudâ that Wall will be serving the country during the summer of 2014 in training sessions, however, that means he will not be able to serve as the director for this summer.
Camp Whitley is âproudâ of the work Wall and Strandlund completed last summer as the leaders of camp, and are âexcitedâ about the forward progression of camp that Strandlund will continue in the wake of Wallâs Army training.
The Camp Whitley 5K Fun Run/Walk, pancake breakfast and open house will be Sunday, June 8 at 8 a.m.
All past, current, and future campers of Camp Whitley as well as their parents, and all friends of Camp Whitley are invited to come visit camp and welcome back Strandlund.
