CAR CRUNCHED: INDOT dump truck collides head-on

A local man was injured in a head-on collision with an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) dump truck Thursday morning on Ind. 109, north of Columbia City. The victim, who’s name has not been released, was transported by medical helicopter to a hospital in Fort Wayne. Pictured, Indiana State Police Troopers investigate the crash, while INDOT employees work was put on hold after the crash.

COLUMBIA CITY — A local man was injured Thursday morning after hitting a dump truck head-on in a construction zone.

The victim, whose name was not released at presstime, was driving northbound on Ind. 109 when a dump truck from the Indiana Department of Transportation, which was headed southbound on Ind. 109, allegedly turned in front of him.
