Carol Kneller, 83

COLUMBIA CITY — Carol “Darlene” Kneller, age 83, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Parkview Oaks Nursing Home, Columbia City.
Born Dec. 14, 1928, in Syracuse, she was the daughter of Chester and Margaret (Poscharscky) Miller.
She graduated from Syracuse High School with the class of 1947.
She has been a resident of Whitley County since her marriage to Jack L. Kneller on Feb. 14, 1948, in Syracuse. She retired from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Columbia City, as a clerk.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jack L. Kneller of Columbia City; son, Rick A. (“Mick” Russo-Kneller) Kneller of Syracuse; daughter, Tamra J. Gordon of Columbia City; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Sandra Baumgarner of Milford.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Betty Miller and Berneice Knisley; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with the funeral service following calling at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Certified Funeral Celebrant, Sharon Brockhaus, will be officiating. Memorial gifts may be given in memory of Mrs. Kneller to Parkview Whitley Home Health and Hospice or the Humane Society of Whitley County.
